Job Description

We are looking for safety engineer for our future projects we have coming up. We need these safety engineer to be a specialist in automation systems to ensure a safe working environment in our automated industrial processes. The safety engineer will focus on deigning, implement, and maintaining safety protocols that prevent accidents, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure that all automated systems, machinery and facilities meet the safety standards of our client.

Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Hazard Analysis:
Identify potential safety risks in automation systems, processes, and equipment through comprehensive hazard analysis. Ensure risks are mitigated according to safety regulations and best practices.

Safety System Design:
Work with automation and electrical engineers to design and implement safety controls, such as emergency stop systems, safety interlocks, light curtains, and other protective mechanisms for machinery.

Compliance & Regulations:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA, ANSI, IEC 61508, and ISO 13849. Ensure that all systems and processes comply with industry-specific safety standards related to automation and robotics.

Safety Audits:
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of automated systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement. Recommend corrective actions and ensure follow-up on safety violations.

Incident Investigation:
Lead investigations of safety-related incidents involving automated equipment or processes. Perform root cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and provide reports to management.

Safety Training & Education:
Develop and deliver training programs for employees, operators, and maintenance personnel on safety procedures, proper use of automated machinery, and emergency response. Ensure understanding of safety controls and protocols.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incident investigations, safety certifications, and compliance reports. Ensure all safety documentation, including machine risk assessments and safety equipment manuals, are up-to-date.

Safety System Testing & Maintenance:
Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of safety systems (e.g., sensors, E-stops, control panels). Ensure they function properly and meet safety specifications during both normal operation and emergency situations.

Collaboration:
Work closely with design, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure safety is considered at every phase of the automation lifecycle, from design and installation to operation and decommissioning.

Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on new safety technologies, regulations, and industry best practices in automation safety. Recommend and implement improvements to existing safety systems and processes
